Poland's kitesurfing capital

Kitesurfing, windsurfing and water sports

The Hel Peninsula is Poland's number one destination for kitesurfing and windsurfing - steady winds, the shallow Puck Bay for lessons, the open Baltic for advanced riders, and the country's highest concentration of licensed schools. Apartament Zdrojowy 323 sits right at the heart of this zone: 15 min on foot to the main pier where most of the top schools operate.

Why Jastarnia in particular?

The narrow peninsula creates a unique situation: on the southern side lies the shallow, warm Puck Bay (ideal for beginners and families with children), on the northern side the open, deep Baltic with waves (for advanced riders). One of the few places in Europe where two completely different water conditions sit within 200–300 metres of each other.

Thermal winds from N/NW and steady westerly breezes mean that during peak season (June–August) favourable kitesurfing conditions appear almost every day. Jastarnia itself hosts several PZKite- and IKO-licensed schools, and neighbouring Chałupy is informally known as Poland's kitesurfing capital.

When is the wind strongest in Jastarnia?
October–February: averages of 4–5 Bft from the W/SW. Summer is calmer (3 Bft), mostly N from the sea. The lightest-wind months are June–August.
